Paykan has over 30 years of experience in the evaluation and design of gas cleaning systems around the world for the steel and non-ferrous metals industries. He has extensive experience in process engineering, process simulation and modeling, and analysis and design of off-gas systems, including heat recovery and energy optimization, from initial concept and scoping studies through to detail engineering. He has also authored several papers and conducted seminars and short courses on smelter gas handling, heat recovery, energy optimization, and industrial air pollution control systems.
Gord has more than 25 years of experience with project management, gas cleaning and material handling system design in the pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical and hydrocarbon industries. He has managed a wide variety of projects from front end development through to detail engineering, construction support and commissioning. He is skilled in the engineering design and layout of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical primary and secondary off-gas systems. He has also been involved in the design of complete hydrometallurgical process plants. Gord offers a wealth of experience in bulk material storage and handling systems including mass-flow or funnel flow storage silo and feeder systems, mechanical conveying, crushing and screening, and fluidized conveying.
Mark has more than 25 years of industrial experience working in a variety of industrial sectors. The past 20 years have been spent in the metals industry in various plant management and project management roles. Mark has a M.S. in Environmental Engineering Management, and is a master black belt in Six Sigma. He has developed process improvement programs for the metals industry, managed large successful operations and developed complex greenfield and brownfield projects approaching $1 billion in value. Mark is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has extensive project management and construction experience in the metals industry. He has managed numerous projects from small in-plant projects ($1-5 M) to project managing construction and start-up of large scale greenfield industrial plants (>$500M). For the past 4 years Mark has implemented a number of gas cleaning and waste heat recovery projects.
Ken is a structural engineer with over 25 years of experience in structural engineering, project management and construction management in chemical, oil and gas, food and nuclear facilities. He has extensive knowledge of engineering for civil, concrete and steel in heavy industrial plants. He has been involved in numerous $300 mil plus green fields plants from start of the proposal, to engineering and to completion as a field project manager. While as a field project manager, he was involved with the mechanical equipment and structural sections of the project as well as initial startup and trouble shooting. In, addition, he has experience in various brownfield projects as well as engineering for high seismic areas.
Andreas has a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering with over 30 years of experience in the non-ferrous metals industry. He has been involved in the engineering, commissioning, and operation of several pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical non-ferrous production facilities worldwide. He has also managed the R&D laboratory and an operating facility of a large non-ferrous recycling company in the USA. Prior to joining Gas Cleaning Technologies, he had his own consulting firm providing process solutions and technologies for the metallurgical industries, and was involved in establishing a non-ferrous metal fabricated products facility in China.
Matt Russell has more than 15 years of experience in process and gas cleaning projects in numerous ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical processes throughout the world, including steel mills, copper, nickel, ferronickel, lead, zinc, aluminum, and platinum smelters, as well as alumina refineries. He has extensive experience in process engineering, feasibility studies, process simulation and modeling, analysis and design of off-gas systems, and heat recovery and energy optimization projects.
Bobby has over 15 years of experience in process engineering and gas cleaning projects around the world. He specializes in process modeling and emissions control of metallurgical facilities, and his experience includes field quantification of emissions as well as development and design of emission control systems for both ferrous and non-ferrous facilities. In addition, he has extensive experience in energy efficiency and heat recovery projects from process gas streams.
Nils earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. For the past ten years, he has worked in a variety of sectors ranging from manufacturing to Oil & Gas, Refining and the mining industry. His background is in process engineering design, commissioning and project engineering. In recent years he is working in project management, managing projects in South East Asia. He has worked through all phases of a project from the feasibility stage, through detailed design to start-up. He is based in Singapore at our GCT-Tialoc office .
Daniel is a Senior Process Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the metals industry specialized in process engineering and process technology development. His assignments have included the techno-economic evaluation of incumbent and emerging innovative extractive technologies for the recovery of nickel, zinc, lead, copper, PGMs and various minor specialty metals from both primary and secondary resources for international clients. Daniel also has significant experience in proof of concept process test work design and execution, and hands-on pilot plant and commercial plant troubleshooting.
Gerson has over 10 years of mechanical engineering and project engineering experience in the assessment, design, construction, commissioning, and management of projects involving mechanical design of industrial equipment, industrial furnace rebuilds, industrial ventilation, and contract management for both public and private section clients. Areas of direct expertise are FeNi electric furnaces as well as Copper Flash and Platinum group metals furnaces. He is also experienced in plant layout design, thermal and furnace integrity audits and simulations. Gerson is a certified Project Management Professional.
Sam is a structural engineer with over 20 years of experience in structural analysis. His specializes in steel and concrete structures in the design and retrofit of gas cleaning equipment as well as ducting, finite element analysis of plates and shells, construction support, constructability reviews, cost estimating, procurement, and project execution.
Larry has nearly 40 years experience in engineering, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of electric power and control systems for major industrial expansions in the Metallurgical and the Oil and Gas Industries. He has engineered and commissioned high, medium and low voltage power distribution systems up to 250 MVA capacities, DCS/PLC control systems with up to 1000 inputs/outputs and electrical power plants rated 18 MW.
Gary has more than 30 years of mechanical, structural and piping design and layout experience for ferrous and non-ferrous smelters, petrochemical and hydrocarbon processing plants, and environmental/air quality projects for greenfield and brown facilities. His experience is primarily focused on heavy industrial design for basic and detailed engineering projects for off-gas handling APC systems, water-cooled duct and equipment, dust handling and conveying, heat recovery, nuclear air and gas handling treatment for D.O.E. facilities and process piping systems.
