Basic and detailed engineering, cold and hot commissioning, and startup support of the gas handling system for a biocarbon production plant supplying electric arc furnace steel mills with 238,000+ metric tons per year of biocarbon as a renewable alternative to metallurgical carbon.
Key Project Deliverables:
- Establish optimal gas cleaning system configuration
- Finalize mass and energy balance, flowsheets (PFD, P&ID), major equipment technical specifications, and data sheets
- Establish emissions levels to assist with environmental permitting
- Reduce NOx emissions from 350 to 165 ppmvdc (53%) using an SNCR instead of an SCR
- Provide technical input into bid clarifications and technical bid evaluations
- Finalize basic layout of all process and gas handling system equipment
- Develop CAPEX and OPEX
- Facilitate Process HAZID and What-if analysis workshop
- Support hot commissioning with system observations, measurements, and troubleshooting
- Develop testing requirements and plan for the pilot facility at Marquette
