Establish an Environmental Management and Implementation Program to reduce roofline and stack emissions of SO2 and particulate.

Scope Includes:

  • Development of a 5-year master plan for staged implementation
  • Measure and define roofline and stack emissions rates from each process
  • Identify high-priority areas to address emissions
  • Develop options for reducing emissions from high-priority areas
  • Benchmarking of emissions rates for similar smelting operations
  • Order-of-magnitude capital cost estimate for each option
  • Converter and Teniente primary and secondary hood improvements
  • New closed-loop hood cooling water system design
  • New anode furnace off-gas system design
