Surge Bin Hood & Transfer Car Area Ventilation

Replaced surge bin hood existing scrubber system with a higher capacity system and added additional ventilation hoods along the existing calcine transfer car track.

GCT developed the project from Concept through to Detailed Engineering and implementation to reduce fugitive dust emissions and help reduce SO2 levels in the transfer car area.

Key Project Elements:

  • New transfer car track hoods, isolation dampers, and ductwork from the hoods up to scrubber inlet
  • New surge bin hood ducting
  • New transfer car area support structure and continuous walkway
  • New wet scrubber, ID fan, slurry tank, and recirculation pumps
  • New scrubber support tower and access platforms
  • New PLC IO panel for field device input/outputs and process control
  • New pile and shallow spread footing foundations
  • Full balance of plant engineering and detailed design of all fabricated components (~150 drawings & documents)
  • Integration of new system into existing brownfield installations and processes
